This is the official birthday of the company. On this day in 1995 we opened our bank account in Budapest. Our owner is MASPED Zrt with a 51% stake, while the management team, consisting of willing entrepreneurs of Hungarocamion, one of the biggest road transport companies in Europe at the time, hold a 49% stake.
02.01.1996
Our first day at work in our office on Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Road, above Arany János Street in Budapest city. The landlord was economical with the heating, and sometimes we didn’t feel like taking off our heavy coats at our desks in the morning.
1997
We were the first tenants at MASPED Zrt’s new office center on Váci út. When we arrived, the renovation, conversion, and reconstruction of the building had just begun, and we tried to focus on our road transport activities amid medium to large size of adventures.
After a brief struggle at the MASPED Office Centre, we fled the construction site. We temporarily moved to Késmárk Street, where we became good neighbors with Danubiasped (later Danzas and after that DHL Hungary) and several other foreign freight forwarders.
1998
We introduced a unified enterprise resource planning system that covers the entire administration, sales, and production operations of the company to date.
As the Hungarian partner of a Swiss company Vetsch AG in Buchs, we launched our first consolidated groupage freight forwarding service.
1999
We add small-package B2C domestic distribution to our existing B2B domestic distribution system.
On behalf of Schier, Otten & Co. in Vienna, we are starting the physical distribution of LEGO products in Hungary.
2000
Together with MASPED Logisztika Kft., we begin providing comprehensive logistics services for Samsung products. The Dunakeszi distribution center opens, where we establish a site. Our head office is once again located at the MASPED center on Váci út.
2001
MASPED Zrt. purchases a former distribution warehouse in Fót, where we establish a cross-dock facility following a major reconstruction. We begin distributing Italian Benetton fashion products in Hungary.
2002
As a Hungarian partner of Saima Avandero Spa, we operate daily Italian groupage shuttle services from Milan, Vicenza, and Prato.
We are launching daily groupage traffic with Combitrans AB from Malmö to Budapest.
2003
We distribute Samsung products throughout Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
ÖBB-owned Schier, Otten & Co in Vienna acquires a minority stake in the company. We begin shipping air freight from our airport office. Our maritime freight forwarding division is established.
As a partner of ABX, our daily collection services depart from Barcelona, Madrid, Munich, Frankfurt, London, Paris, and Lesquin (Lille). We are starting the logistics distribution of French Promode fashion items to stores in Hungary.
2004
Together with MASPED Logisztika Kft., we begin to provide logistics services for Vodafone in Hungary.
2005
We are beginning exclusive B2B distribution of SONY products in Hungary.
2006
We are introducing a successful VMI product for our customers who require factory delivery logistics.
2008
We are launching daily consolidated groupage service from Nuremberg to Budapest in cooperation with AMM GmbH.
2009
Schier, Otten & Co. merges with ÖBB’s Express Interfracht Int. Speditionsges.m.b.H. in Vienna.
2013
Our Austrian owner will be ÖBB’s European Contract Logistics GmbH in Vienna (ECL) through a merger.
2016
We start the distribution of fashion products from the Spanish Cortefiel Group in Hungary.
2017
Another merger, our Austrian owner will be Q Logistics GmbH as a Member of ÖBB.
2018
We are launching a daily groupage service with our partner LEMAN AS from Copenhagen, Denmark.
2019
We are switching to paperless operations in our enterprise resource planning system.
2021
In a sudden decision in March, due to COVID, we ordered everyone except our colleagues working in warehousing and domestic distribution to work from home. Our system is performed excellently, and the measure did not require any significant changes to our processes.
2022
Following a transfer within the ÖBB Group, our minority owner will be Rail Cargo Logistics Hungária Kft. The other main owner remains MASPED Zrt. Hungarocamion Kft. also remains a minority owner in the company to this day.
At our Fót site, we are launching finishing services for our dedicated customers. We are also establishing a customs warehouse at the same location to serve our third-country import customers.
We are launching regular rail groupage services from China, from the cities of Xi’an and Chengdu.
2023
We launch our sameday service for dedicated customers.
2024
We are revamping our image and website, which serves as a popular professional portal that enhances our online presence.
2025
We have started to develop our domestic office network, so you will soon be able to meet our colleagues in several large rural cities.
